Features include viewpoint articles, full-text magazine and newspaper articles, primary source documents, statistics, images and podcasts, and links to Websites. Scroll down the list of “popular topics” and click on “Stem Cells.” ProQuest: Full-text articles from magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias, and educational journals. Click the “Topics” Tab.Enter your keywords. The result will give you a list of topics related to your search.You either click to see all the documents or click on “Narrow" to refine your search. SIRS Knowledge Source: SIRS Knowledge Source (SKS) is a comprehensive database portal which is comprised of several distinct reference databases including SIRS Researcher®, SIRS Government Reporter®, SIRS Renaissance®, SKS WebSelect™, SIRS Discoverer®, and Discoverer WebFind™.Updated daily, SKS provides relevant, credible information on social issues, science, history, government, the arts and humanities. Full-text articles and Internet resources are carefully selected from thousands of domestic and international publications and respected organizations.Begin your research by clicking on the “Stem Cells” icon in the Pro/Con box on the right of the screen.That will take you to an overview of the issues, suggested keywords, and a list of articles.Note the “Viewpoints” tab, which will take you to articles that are written form a particular point of view. The following database is available on a trial basis until May 31, 2008: Science Resource Center with ClassTrac: thousands of topic overviews, experiments, biographies, pictures and illustrations are just a few clicks away and the latest scientific developments are covered in articles from over 200 magazines and academic journals and links to quality web sites. ClassTrac allows students to access current and relevant information that supports their class curriculum and aligns to their state standards. After choosing a class, students can access the rest of ClassTrac's offerings -- Learning Units, Multimedia, Assessments and Activities -- by selecting a Unit of Study such as DNA. Users can also access Units of Study by commonly used textbooks. Scroll down the list of topics and click on “Stem Cells” or “Stem Cell Research.”
